Ramadan 2026

Prayer times at Darul-Islam are calculated using a custom method: Fajr is calculated at 18° and Isha at 15°, with Asr determined according to the Shafi‘i (standard) juristic method, and based on Darul-Islam geographic coordinates (Latitude: 38.60294; Longitude: −90.49584).

Please note that other masajid may use different calculation methods.

Muhammad prayed Tarāwīḥ in congregation for a few nights but then stopped, fearing it might become farḍ upon the Ummah. Later, during the khilāfah of Umar ibn al-Khattab, it was established regularly in congregation in the masjid.

🕌 How It Is Performed

Prayed after ʿIshāʾ.

Usually 20 rakʿāt (in many masājid), though some pray 8 rakʿāt.

Offered in sets of two rakʿāt with salām after each two.

Followed by Witr ṣalāh.

Hadith on Fasting: Help break fast, earn same reward:

Zayd ibn Khalid reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever helps break the fast of a fasting person, he will have the same reward as him without decreasing anything from the reward of the fasting person.”

What is I’tikaf and why is it done?

I’tikaf involves secluding oneself in the masjid during the last 10 days and nights of Ramadan, as was the annual practice of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) and his Companions (May Allah be pleased with them). During this time, attendees devote themselves to worship and learning, seeking forgiveness for past shortcomings and searching for Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power), which is a night of worship more valuable than a thousand months.

The I’tikaf begins on the 21st night of Ramadan and continues until the end of Ramadan. The Prophetic Sunnah is to remain in the masjid during the entire 10-day period, secluding oneself from the outside world.
